TECHNOLOGY & AI
Module 9 · 8 min
AI can be your tutor, game-maker and creative partner, if you stay the thinker.
The idea: Helps you or holds you back?
The same tool can do both. Tap each.
- Used well · Saves time, tutors, explains, gives new ideas, helps you practice and test yourself.
- Used badly · Wastes time, makes you dependent, replaces your own thinking.
Try these with any AI: Prompts that make learning fun
- "Explain this visually." · A diagram or picture instead of a paragraph
- "Turn it into a cricket problem." · Learn through something you love
- "Don't tell me the answer. Give me a hint." · You still do the thinking
- "Make me solve a mystery using this concept." · Learning becomes a story
- "Tell me where my reasoning went wrong." · A tutor that finds your mistakes
- "Increase the difficulty." · Keep stretching yourself
Text to music: Songs to remember
Ask a music AI, like Suno, to make a song that helps younger students remember the 13 times table, in Tamil or English.
Songs and rhymes make facts stick, and making them is fun.
Text to image, then a game: A picture becomes a quiz
One prompt made a visual of photosynthesis. Another turned it into this illustrated revision quiz.
Text to game: A chapter becomes a game
The prompt "Convert the Class 8 Exploring Continents chapter into a simple game" made this.
From the Erode workshop: Ideas from students
Students suggested these ways to use AI for learning. Each one was then built with AI. Tap to try them.
- A team grammar game · Build sentences, get points
- A biology quiz-board show · Revise the whole syllabus in teams
- Accountancy practice cases · Learn debit and credit rules
- A study-habit tracker · See how you really spend study time
Your turn: Helps or holds back?
- Ask AI to write my essay, then submit it (Holds back: You learn nothing, and it isn't honest.)
- Ask AI to quiz me before a test (Helps: Practice with feedback.)
- Ask AI for a hint, not the answer (Helps: You still do the thinking.)
- Copy AI's answer without checking it (Holds back: AI can be wrong. Always check.)
- Ask AI to explain where my reasoning went wrong (Helps: Like a patient tutor.)
Remember: Stay the thinker
Always check what AI tells you. It can sound sure and still be wrong.
“Don't outsource your thinking. Use AI to think better.”
Your turn: Pause & ponder
Which topic will you turn into a game, song, picture or quiz with AI?
Apply: Try this week
Use one prompt from this lesson for one topic you're studying. Then check: did you understand it better?
If you're under the age an AI tool allows, ask a teacher or parent to try it with you.
Well done!
