TRUST
Module 7 · 6 min
Trust lets you do things you can't do alone.
The idea: When people trust you
Trust opens doors.
- A teacher gives you responsibility, like leading a school event
- A friend lends you their notes
- A shopkeeper gives you credit until tomorrow
- A team chooses you for their project
Remember: You can't buy it
“You can't buy trust. You can only earn it.”
Small things grow: Trust compounds
Tap each step.
- Return the notes on time · Next time, your friend lends you a book.
- Finish a small task · The teacher gives you a bigger one.
- Be fair once · People want to work with you again.
Play: The Trust Bridge
Build a bridge of trust, one choice at a time.
Be careful: How trust is lost
- Breaking a promise, even a small one
- Lying, or hiding a mistake
- Sharing someone's secret
- Forwarding a rumour without checking it
- Keeping all the mangoes for yourself!
The idea: Slow to grow, quick to break
Repairing it is possible: admit it, say sorry, keep the next promise. But regaining trust takes much longer than breaking it.
“Trust grows slowly. It breaks in a moment.”
Both ways: Trust wisely
Check before you believe. Trust people step by step, based on what they do, not what they say.
Online too: forward only what you have checked.
Your turn: Pause & ponder
Who trusts you today who didn't trust you a year ago? What did you do to earn it?
Apply: Try this week
Make one small promise this week, and keep it exactly on time.
Notice how the other person responds.
Well done!
